Melbreck Technical are working with a leading designer and manufacturer of special purpose equipment for a multitude of industries, including Aerospace, Defence, Scientific and Automotive.

Due to planned growth they now have a vacancy within their operations and quality team and looking to hire a quality engineer to start with their business ASAP.
As a Quality Engineer yo will be reporting in to the Quality Manager and and be responsible for ensuring that the companies products and processes meet applicable standards and customer requirements.

Main Duties:·Auditing internal systems to the requirements of ISO 9001

·Investigating nonconformities to identify root causes and prevent recurrence

·Working with the businesses R&D fuction to ensure project conformity with customer requirements and applicable regulations

·Controlling and writing quality documents and reports as required

·Training of technicians and assemblers on quality matters as required

·Other duties as required by a Manager or Director of the Company

Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience as a Quality Engineer
  • Experience of testing electronics instrumentation and mechanical inspection
  • Experience of auditing to ISO 9001
  • Good knowledge of the LVD and EMC Directives for CE marking
  • Good soldering inspection skills
  • Experience of nonconformity investigation, analysis, follow up and reporting
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to write and present reports to managers
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel


  • Formal qualification in electronics
  • Knowledge of AS 9100
