Electronic Design Engineer – Littlehampton
Are you an Electronic Design Engineer looking to work on innovative, specialist electronic products from concept through to production?
This is an exciting opportunity to join an established electronics manufacturer near Littlehampton, where you’ll play a key role in developing, testing and improving bespoke electronic solutions.
You’ll work alongside a team of experienced NPD engineers in a technically challenging environment, with the opportunity to apply your expertise, solve complex problems and contribute to products where quality, reliability and attention to detail really matter.
You will take responsibility for the electronic content of product developments, incorporating both analogue and digital circuitry, delivering reliable and cost-effective electronic solutions. The role ensures products meet customer requirements, technical specifications, quality standards, and project timelines.
Electronic Design Engineer – responsibilities:
Take full ownership and responsibility for assigned work packages and projects.
Design and develop sophisticated analogue and digital electronics.
Create electronic schematics, PCB layout, and select appropriate components to meet performance, reliability, availability, and cost requirements.
Transform prototypes into production-ready products by applying DFMEA and PFMEA principles to create robust, practical, and manufacturable designs.
Ensure designs meet EMC, environmental, EHS, RoHS/REACH, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Act as a technical mentor by sharing knowledge with developing engineers and helping strengthen engineering capability and best practice across the team.
Produce high-quality technical documentation.
Support the business in managing Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) compliance.
Support operations in solving complex engineering challenges.
Electronic Design Engineer – Candidate Requirements:
Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Strong experience in both digital and analogue electronic design with microcontrollers.
Knowledge of PCB design principles, including layout rules, constraints, and best practices.
Hands-on experience in hardware development and awareness of embedded software development.
Experience taking products from feasibility or concept through to production.
Understanding of design for manufacture and assembly, including DFMEA/PFMEA.
Exposure to EMC testing, product approvals, certification, or compliance.
Experience planning or leading complex engineering development activities.
Experience in verification and validation testing.

37.5 hours per week – with flexible start and finish times
