Buyer / Purchasing Assistant

Melbreck Technical are working with a leading designer and manufacturer of special purpose equipment and machinery based near Heathrow.
Due to a planned expansion of their Supply Chain and Purchasing capability they are looking to strengthen their team and as such are looking to secure a Buyer/Purchasing Assistant on a permanent basis ASAP.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Purchasing Assistant/Buyer to join a growing engineering company that can offer a long term career prospect.

Main Duties and Accountabilities:

Raising purchase orders and often working to expedite orders to meet project deadlines.

Liaising with suppliers to maintain consistency of quality and lead times.

Working with the engineering teams to provide updates on supply issues and possible delays.

Reducing costs and sourcing materials from Bill of Materials.

Occasional processing of goods received and C of C’s.

Allocating from stock and maintaining stock levels

Person Specification

Previous experience working as a Purchasing Assistant / Buyer, ideally within an engineering or manufacturing environment.

Proficient with Microsoft packages, including Excel.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Knowledge of ERP / MRP systems.

Full UK Driving License.
